Barefoot adventures and clover chains. What's the connection?
Growing up, our yard was covered with clover every spring, and we eagerly made clover chains for our heads, necklaces and bracelets. We thought the chains were so beautiful and elegant, especially placed in circles on our hair, making us feel like princesses.
But there was a catch--the honey bees.
Walking barefoot through the clover was delightful until we accidentally stepped on one of those plump little bees. The sting quickly turned joy into pain.
To this day, I shy away from going barefoot, always expecting unpredictable little injuries. Nonetheless, the memories of those carefree days and our clover crafts still make me smile.
