A bit of honesty here, I am a tightly wound person that has trouble letting go. Art has helped me immensely, but I can be my worst enemy sometimes with trying to keep control of what I'm doing. When it comes to art, there has to be a level of letting go. With that comes fear. I'm afraid to experiment with my pieces. I fear ruining a painting. The truth is, I'm going to because that's how I learn and grow. I am happy to say that this piece was part of me letting go and experimenting. What came out was a floral explosion full of life and movement. Perhaps I can learn from this...at least for a bit. Old habits die hard!
