Thai Dancer

I used to watch classical Indian dance on tv whenever we would go to India. One day on vacation and I was "hogging the tv" according to a hostile source (my brother), my grandaunt asked me if I knew how to distinguish the different styles on classical Indian dance that I seemed so keen on. I didn't know how to but I of course made something up to keep my reign of terror over the tv. When I paint Southeast Asian dancers, I can see a lot of similarities as well as differences but I understand how to the untrained eye, it could be hard to place them all. When I display my work, I get some very good guesses by people who view my work. And it makes me smile, because even without knowing the exact origin of the dance, they enjoy the grace of the movements shown in the painting. We don't need to be experts at something to enjoy it.
