"Scout"

This piece was created by smearing a palette knife with an oil based paint conditioner on top of acrylic paint. The oil repels from the paint and creates these beautiful cells and lacing. It happens in a matter of seconds and it's magical to watch! Somehow, the way I move the palette knife creates bird shapes. I see the profile of a seagull in this piece, but if I tilt my head to the right, I see a bird in flight. Do you see it?

"Scout" is an 8x10 canvas in a black handmade wooden floating frame. Varnished for protection. Wired and ready for hanging.
