"Phoenix"

One day, in my corporate job before becoming a full time artist was even in the picture, I was angry at a coworker. When I got home, all I wanted to do was paint. I didn't even realize at the time that I picked a fire color palette. I grabbed a hairdryer and started blowing the colors around my canvas and then blew through a straw for extra detail. Making the fire piece that day was healing for me and it sold just a few weeks later! Today, I still make these pieces, but not because I'm angry, I just love the look of fire and the rich contrast. This particular one looked like a Phoenix to me so when it was dry, I played that up. The Phoenix represents renewal and rebirth by rising out of the ashes of it's previous life. I think we can all relate to that!

"Phoenix" is a 12x12 canvas in a black handmade wooden floating frame. Varnished for protection. Wired and ready for hanging.
