Mrs. Claus

6x6 oil on panel, black floater frame

I feel like Mrs. Claus was obviously the hero in "The Year Without a Santa Claus" tv special. She totally saved Christmas. But, of course, right at the end, Santa (the old white dude) swooped back in and took all the credit. I bet he even slapped her on the ass and asked her to have his dinner ready when he got back, because it was 1974 … twenty years before the "Violence Against Women Act" which finally made domestic violence and sexual assault a crime. (It's true: Look it up!) And to add insult to injury, I bet she even made less money for her role in this show than Santa did, because the gender pay gap in Hollywood is a real thing. Don't believe me? Just ask Jennifer Lawrence or Merril Streep.
