How Much Time Is Left?
How Much Time Is Left depicts a male house finch quizzically eyeing the sinking sand in an hourglass. This is a statement about how wild birds are struggling with changing environments both with global warming, chemicals/pesticides, and loss of habitats. This oil on wood painting measures 6" x 12" x 1.5" deep. The sides are painted a complimentary color pulled from the painting. It is wired to hang on a wall or can sit on a shelf. This mini comes wrapped and ready for holiday gifting to a special someone or to add to your own art collection!
The house finch population in North America is estimated to be between 267 million and 1.4 billion! They are the second most populous finch in North America, after the goldfinch. A few million years ago, one species of finch migrated to the rocky Galapagos from the mainland of Central or South America. From this one migrant species would come as many as 13 species of finches, evolving from this single ancestor.
