From my Perch

From my perch, I watch you, my little one, perched on a higher branch now, taller than I could have imagined.

I remember when you fit snugly under my wing, a tiny, bright-eyed spark, curious about the world.

Now, you look out with a wisdom I only dreamed of having, wings trembling with the urge to fly.

I can see that your'e ready- ready to leap, to explore, to embrace the skies that call you.

But, from here, my heart aches, knowing that the nest will soon be empty.

I am not ready to watch you leave, to see those wings spread wide and carry you far from the branches we shared.

Yet, as much as it pains me, I know that you must go, that your spirit is meant to soar.

From my perch, I see how ready you are to soar and how hesitant I am to let you go.
