When You Were Fading
As dad faded we felt all the same feelings that people talk about... (I have learned they talk about this mostly AFTER people pass) ...the guilt, the sorrow, the longing, the disbelief, the inevitable, the grief. And right in the middle of it all, Mom needed a break. She was exhausted. She was sad. John went down to be with Dad while Mom and I took a very short trip to Key West to get some sunshine on our faces in the doldrums of February. Right outside of our hotel was this gorgeous, graceful purple flowering vine - Queen's Wreath! I took a sprig and made several cyanotypes with it reminding me that nature always has something to tell us and teach us if we are willing to listen.
