I am an oil painter. I paint what I see. My inspiration is having a clear picture of what I want to create, then mixing and manipulating oil paint, maintaining a state of flow and letting the forces of the universe come into play. It's exciting to create the form of an object, the atmosphere of a place or the essense of a person. I love contrast and color. Painting for me is in finding the solution and leaving out the unnecessary details.
I was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY. My father was an artist and advertising executive who had a strong influence on me, and my art.
There was a time in my life when I felt the burden and stress from trying to do too much. We put impossible demands on ourselves and then feel frustrated and less than when we fail to get it all done. I know now, we are all worthy and you simply don't have to do it all.
My journey has been to simplify the complicated and be happy by leaving some things undone.
