The Garden Variety

The lavender plant was hard to grow in Chestertown - too humid, not dry enough? We'd grow envious of anyone who could grow it. Since moving, lavender is a plant that seems to follow me from the gardens of friends, to my love of Warwick Furnace Farm, to the stunning plants that are grown in the kitchen garden at Winterthur (from which these specimens were taken!) Close your eyes and breathe in. The memories are palpable.
