Summer Ferns

Growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, ferns were not a plant that populated our woods. Only after I went off to college in the mountains of NC did I start to obsess over these magical plants and Dad would too. We'd spend time in the woods looking at the details, learning more about the many, many varieties and I started to draw them. I was amazed by the variety, even here in PA, once I moved back north. Ferns have since played a large role in my creative process. Some might call it an obsession!
