Rockbound

While hiking in Newfoundland I was frequently confronted with steep walls of rock, their surfaces impressive and daunting. Resting beside these giants standing in my path, my eyes would always drift to the horizon beyond. There in the distance the rocks seemed smaller, more smooth and capturing the sun's warmth. Surely I could climb on just a little farther?

This paper collage piece is made from my own handprinted papers; layers of texture and colour create an impressionistic landscape.
