Putting Out Fires

Fires blazed through our county this summer, taking homes and leaving wildlife displaced. I have such respect and gratitude for the brave women and men who risked their lives to save others and I was inspired to create a vibrant alcohol ink painting of a vintage fire truck.

The truck's body and chassis are a rich, warm orange, with varying shades of the color subtly highlighting details.

The painting technique is loose and expressive, with visible brushstrokes and blends that contribute to the overall impression of this hand-crafted piece. The background is a pale, light blue, creating a simple contrast with the subject.
