On a ground of genuine Piemontite paint
Oil, red leaf on linen
What a perfect time of year to work with the red and green families because they are so complementary. Red leaf from my last papermaking exchange kissed onto some new Monopaints.
Connected through the familial paints and palettes of other works, each Monopaint has a unique personality and explores ethereal texture, dueling forms, and an abundance of luscious, dynamic color.
Inspired by printmaking's monoprint process, where each image is unique, I named these spontaneous, residue-dependent lovelies "Monopaints." Several healing, genuine stone, watercolor paints were used on top of the noted ground stone paint.
25 Days of Minis 2024
This year is a mashup of my creative tropes. How I made one series combined with materials or moves of another. Some figural and some abstractions.Always representing the unobserved.
You will find five paintings within each category of creation.
Several healing, genuine stone, watercolor paints were used on top of the noted ground stone paint throughout the paintings:Purpurite, Rhodonite, Jadeite, Amethyst, Bloodstone, Green Apatite, Serpentine, Piemontite, Amazonite, Sodalite
