"Lessons Learned"
The sand spring is a place that I would frequent as a child. The journey from the parked car was a mere quarter mile, a perfect excursion for small legs. The water was always so cold and crisp. Was that because we needed to "adventure" to get to this commonplace refreshment or was it actually of a different clarity and quality? Returning to the spring, it was evident that the water was stagnant and non-drinkable, so this curiosity wasn't something I was going to be able to safely satisfy, but the beauty of the repeated journey, the whispers of past gatherings and the change in my view point from many lessons learned since childhood was more than enough.
