Oil on Board with a Black Wood Floater Frame
In my experience, every beach has a common denominator. Seagulls. Seagulls can quickly turn a relaxing beach day into a lively spectacle. They seem to hover and watch intently, ready to swoop in at the first sign of food.
The moment a sandwich is unwrapped or a bag of chips is opened, the gulls dart in. They often feign indifference before making a daring grab, causing chaos with squawking and flapping wings as they squabble over dropped morsels. At least once a summer someone in our group inadvertently shares their lunch with a seagull. For me it has always been a mix of annoyance and amusement, as these happy, opportunistic thieves play out their beach drama and remind us that in their world, no meal is truly safe.
