As I walked up to my grandfather's tree-stand, now my dad's, I noticed that it was leaning…worn with time and use. I asked my dad if it was safe for me to paint in the stand. He assured me that it was, but I had my doubts. Once I got into the tree stand and took in the views, I forgot my fear and set up to capture this beautiful scene of new growth, fallen trees, and the interplay of light and shadow…dissonance resolved.
