Cotton Candy
I had fun painting Cotton Candy of an Arctic fox in the setting sun. The colors reminded me of cotton candy from a fair! This oil painting measures 8.5" x 8.5" x 1.5" deep and is framed in a custom grey-stained wood floater frame. It is wired to hang on a wall or can sit on a shelf. This mini comes wrapped and ready for holiday gifting to a special someone or to add to your own art collection!
Arctic foxes are well adapted to life in an icy-cold environment, like the Arctic tundra in the polar region of the Northern hemisphere. They are much more compact, smaller, and stouter than other fox species. This helps them reduce heat loss. Their thick fur helps them maintain a stable body core temperature. For this reason, they do not need to hibernate. Their fur color changes with different seasons to help them blend in with their surroundings. In the warmer months they shed their thick white fur to a thinner darker color fur. The Arctic fox has dark skin beneath the fur, which is better for absorbing and retaining heat, like that of a polar bear!
