Christmas Morning

This is my fifth year doing 25 Days of Minis and each year I tell a version of this story. On Christmas morning we wake up to watch the sunrise on Cape Cod. We make our coffee, put it in our Yetis, bundle up and head for Nantucket Sound. It is so very quiet and still. We watch as the sky turns from a dark grayish blue to lavender and clouds appear. Sometimes it's not so spectacular, but sometimes the colors are unbelievable. The blues, the oranges, the purples and then the sun starts peeking out behind the clouds. At first just a glimmer of light that moves in an out. It grows until the sun appears over the horizon. It is a Christmas miracle. I take a moment to reflect on the year that was. The joys, the sorrows, the losses, the highs, and the lows. And I make a silent wish for a good year.
